Youir neighboor is the other part of
you, the part behind the wall. Through understanding, all
walls will fall… she is a mirror, your neighboor,
in whom you contemplate your own face.
Kahlil Gibran
Two bodies in the same breath confront the cardinal
sins of lust and envy without losing the purity that feeds
their moving fragility...
Carlo Bruni, art director, Kismet Theater
Soliloquy! is a study of some of the cardinal
sins and the superficial and empty automatisms they generate.
In a doll-like existence, two bodies search for the sensation
of humanity, miming and reaching for humans, through the
most visible and negative attributes of the human kind.
Power, vanity, lust, ire and ultimately, sensation.
This piece began through studies under the guide of Josef
Nadj at the Accademia Isola Danza, La Biennale di Venezia,
2002, and continued with the support and aid of Susanne
Linke and Urs Dietrich, Danio Manfredini. With presentations
of studies in Salerno, Vienna, Kongsberg (Norway), and Stadt
Theater Bremen, Soliloquy! Made its debut at Kismet Theater,
Italy.
Soliloquy! is produced in collaboration with Kismet Theatre,
Bari, and Teatro Rossini, Gioia del Colle, Italy. It has
been guest of Urs Dietrich at Stadt Theater Bremen, Germany.
Soliloquy! was the inaugural performance for the opening
of DANSES HUS OSLO, September 2004.
